The Intrepid 4x5 Hardwood Range
Launching on November 15th is a very exciting and long-awaited addition to the Intrepid Camera lineup: The 4x5 Hardwood.
These premium edition Intrepid 4x5 cameras will be available in: Cherry, Walnut and Mahogany, all with hand-folded black bellows. Each camera is cut from a single piece of wood, then sanded and varnished by hand. The individual grain of each piece of wood means that every Hardwood 4x5 will be totally unique.
The Hardwood 4x5 retains all the tried and tested features of the Intrepid 4x5 MK4 and Black Edition. The base and front standard supports are anodised aluminium for increased stability and the bellows Intrepid’s signature water-resistant Nylon. The camera also features Intrepid’s super precise rear controlled focus system. As well as dual front standard controls so you can control the rise/fall and tilt movements independently. The rear standard can be rotated 360° for fast changing of orientation, with magnets to ensure it locks properly into either portrait or landscape. As with all Intrepid field cameras the Hardwood 4x5 is super compact and lightweight at just 1.2kg.
The ground glass is held in place by high tension leaf springs and is also removable. The rear standard has ‘Graflok clips’ meaning it is compatible with a whole range of roll film adapters (from 6x6 to 6x17), Polaroid and other instant film backs and of course the Intrepid 4x5 Enlarger.
